Description
This elegant cremation urn is individually made by hand in North Carolina from red oak wood. Crafted using a traditional wood turning technique, multiple pieces of wood are assembled in layers and then shaped on a lathe. The wood is dyed blue in varying shades, creating a deep ocean-like appearance.
The process involves carefully selecting and arranging 146 wood segments in a way that enhances the grain patterns and color variations. This method results in a seamless, rounded form with a smooth surface. The urn is finished by hand to bring out the luster of the wood.
The lid fits securely on top of the urn using a brass threaded enclosure. The overall shape is reminiscent of a classic vase or vessel, with a wider middle tapering to a narrower top and bottom.
